What Went on Last Week 

On May 1, Foothills County RCMP received a comp laint that several unlocked vehicles and unlocked garages had been entered and gone through at a p roperty north of Okotoks. Small items including change and a backpack were stolen. This appears to have been a crime of opportunity. 

On May 1, Foothills RCMP responded to a complaint of speeding motorcycles on Coal Trail. The fast-moving motorcycles were gone when police arrived. 

On May 2, Foothills County RCMP members assisted Oilfields Hospital staff with a violent patient who was experiencing a mental health crisis. The patient was transported to another hospital for assessment and nobody was hurt. 

On May 3, Foothills County RCMP were dispatched to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle at a lease sight. Upon arrival, a pickup truck that had been stolen in Nanton was located, unoccupied.   

On May 3, Foothills County RCMP received a complaint that a pickup truck was stolen from a house at the Eden Valley First Nation. The truck was recovered in Longview the following and returned to its rightful owner. The matter is still under investigation.

On May 4, a trailer carrying a snowmobile was stolen from the side of highway 2, where the truck towing it had broken down and was awaiting a tow. 

On May 4, Foothills County RCMP responded to a complaint of break and enter to a home in Black Diamond, where jewellery had been stolen. The investigation is ongoing. 

On May 5, Foothills County RCMP responded to a complaint of an intoxicated missing person believed to be in a wooded area of the Eden Valley First Nations reserve. Foothills County RCMP received assistance from a helicopter and police dog, resulting in the missing person being located and brought to safety. 

On May 6, a person reported missing from the Eden Valley First Nation was located and returned safely to their family.
