March 25, 2020: Financial Relief during COVID-19
At the March 25 council meeting, Council passed two bylaws in order to aid residents who are experiencing financial distress as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic:
Resident’s who receive utility invoices from Foothills County for water/sewer/garbage will continue to receive their utility bills but Foothills County has waived all penalties on delinquent accounts until December 31, 2020.
Foothills County has eliminated the October 1, 2020 tax penalty.
Property Taxes are due September 30
Property taxes are due in full by September 30 of the same year.
Late Payment Penalties
After September 30, your taxes are subject to a penalty. A late penalty charge of 6% penalty will be applied after this date. If taxes are still outstanding on January 1, a further 12% penalty will be applied. Cheques not honoured by your bank are also subject to penalty and administration charges.
