How to Register a Complaint
Contact our complaint line listed above and be prepared to leave your contact information: name, address and phone number along with the nature of your complaint. All information received is kept confidential. Investigations will be based on priority basis with officer discretion determining the action that is warranted in each situation. The focus of the Protective Services is to achieve compliance within the rules and guidelines set out by the Municipality. Bylaw violations are generally not immediate in nature, but should the issue be an urgent matter and you can not reach us during regular business hours, please contact your local RCMP detachment.
What are Bylaws
Municipal Bylaws govern neighbourhood issues and set a minimum standard for conduct and help ensure that all residents of Foothills County live in a safe, clean and healthy community.
While informal non-confrontational communication is a simple way of addressing neighbourhood concerns; in situations where this is not a viable option, Foothills County Protective Services can be contacted to file a complaint or make an inquiry for investigation by the Protective Services staff.
Bylaws are created to :
- Protect public health and safety
- Protect the environment
- Protect public and private property
Our office investigates bylaws, a few of which appear below, that have been passed by Foothills County. We also have Alberta Peace Officer appointments under a number of Provincial laws and statutes and thus we work in conjunction with Provincial Agencies such as Alberta Environment and the SPCA.
Should you have a suggestion or comment about any of the above noted bylaws, please contact our office.
