General Maintenance - Seasonal

The Foothills Regional Landfill & Resource Recovery Centre (LRRC) consists of a landfill operation, throw & go recycling area, compost pad, household hazardous waste collection area and a salvage and recycling non-profit organization called the Foothills Salvage and Recycling Society.  The Resource Recovery Centre name reflects our emphasis on waste diversion, recycling and salvage.  The Foothills Regional Landfill is inviting applications for a seasonal General Maintenance position.

Summer Students

March 18, 2019

Term – May 1 to August 31, 2019

Foothills County encompasses a diverse rural landscape covering approximately 3,600 square kilometres located in the foothills of southern Alberta.  Foothills County is inviting applications for Summer Students in a term position to work within the following Departments:

Foothills Regional Landfill and Resource Recovery Centre
Public Works/GIS
Protective Services - Foothills Patrol

The eligibility requirements of the summer student positions under the Provincial STEP Program are:

  • Returning to a post-secondary institution;
  • Must be enrolled in a program that will result in a Certificate, Diploma or Degree.  Technical training for Apprenticeship is not eligible;
  • Resides and/or attends school in Alberta;
  • Is available for full-time summer employment;
  • A Canadian Citizen, a permanent resident, or protected person under the Canadian Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and legally entitled to work and study in Canada.

2019 Construction Season - Seasonal

March 18, 2019

Term – April to October

Foothills County encompasses a diverse rural landscape covering approximately 3,600 square kilometres located in the foothills of southern Alberta.  Foothills County is seeking experienced seasonal operators, truck drivers and labourers for the upcoming 2019 season.

The Public Works department need to fill the following positions:

  • Grader Operator
  • Light Equipment Operator (Packer, Skid Steer)
  • Heavy Equipment Operator (Trackhoe, Rock Truck)
  • Truck Driver – Class 1
  • Flagperson/Labourer

Administrative Assistant – Public Works

Permanent – Full Time

Foothills County encompasses a diverse rural landscape covering approximately 3,600 square kilometres located in the foothills of southern Alberta.  Foothills County is inviting applications for a permanent full-time Administrative Assistant for Public Works.

This position is responsible for all administrative duties for the Public Works department working at the High River office.     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years general office experience.
  • High level of organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft and Adobe software.
  • Experience with Great Plains Dynamics and Worktech would be considered an asset.
