The Foothills Regional Landfill & Resource Recovery Centre (LRRC) consists of a landfill operation, throw & go recycling area, compost pad, household hazardous waste collection area, and a salvage and recycling non-profit organization called The Foothills Salvage and Recycling Society. The Resource Recovery Centre name reflects our emphasis on waste diversion, recycling, and salvage. The Foothills Regional Landfill and Resource Recovery Centre is inviting applications for the following three positions:

Firefighter – Casual

The Municipal District of Foothills No. 31 encompasses a diverse rural landscape covering approximately 3,600 square kilometres located in the foothills of southern Alberta.  The M.D. of Foothills is currently seeking highly motivated individuals to fill casual firefighter positions in our Heritage Pointe Fire Station.

The successful candidates, under the direction of officers, will be responsible for combating, extinguishing and prevention of fires and protection of life and property within the M.D. of Foothills No. 31.

Manager of Human Resources

The Municipal District of Foothills No.31, located in High River, AB, is a vibrant and thriving municipality south of Calgary.  We are currently seeking a full time, permanent Manager of Human Resources to join our management team.  As a leader of our team you will have the opportunity to enhance the well-being of the organization and its people.

We are seeking a dynamic individual who will provide leadership, guidance, support and knowledge in all aspects of human resources management with a primary focus on leading the Human Resource, Payroll and Safety departments within the organization. This role reports to the Director of Corporate Services and will provide direction, leadership and mentoring within the department. If you are involved with daily human resource activities and development, maintain attributes to be instrumental in fostering a positive work culture and enjoy working closely with all levels of an organization, we encourage you to consider joining our management team.

To be successful in this position you will hold a Designation from the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources Alberta (CPHR) or other like provincial institution and have completed a University certification in Human Resource Management (diploma/degree). A minimum of ten years leadership and human resource generalist experience is preferred. Priority will be given to Applicants that have a payroll & benefits background, are versed in employment standards law and have knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety and/or Alberta Municipal Health & Safety Association Standards.

The inherent values you possess are demonstrated through your high level of integrity, strategic approach, analytical thinking and proven ability to develop and maintain trust and confidentiality. You also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Your experience will be evident in your ability to see a need for human resource programs and to advise and assist employees and management in all areas of employee relations.
