Public Notice - COVID-19

November 30, 2020

On Sunday November 29, 2020, Foothills County was advised that a staff member had tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The staff member works within the Foothills County Administration Building in High River, AB. As directed by Alberta Health Services, all persons who are considered to be a close contact of the individual are being notified.

The County is working closely with Alberta Health Services, and taking all reasonable steps to ensure the safety of our employees and members of the public who attend the main administration building. These precautions include enhanced cleaning and sanitization of the building and reducing the number of employees who are present, making work from home arrangement for those who are able to perform their duties remotely.

The Foothills Building Codes Department is temporarily closed, however all other departments remain operational. The public is encouraged to contact staff by way of email or telephone in order to limit the number of people within the building during this time. Contact information for each department can be found on the Foothills County website - MD Foothills | Contact (foothillscountyab.ca)

As the COVID-19 numbers continue to rise in our community, Foothills County encourages everyone to follow the mandatory enhanced public health measures currently in place and help prevent the spread by washing your hands, practicing physical distancing and wearing masks when physical distancing is not possible.

We remain committed to open and transparent communications with staff and our residents in order to keep everyone safe and informed. Updates will be posted should additional information be available.
