    Foothills County requires all dogs to be on a leash at all times. Lloyd Park is not and has never been an off-leash area for dogs. When visiting Lloyd Park or other areas of Foothills County, please ensure your dog(s) are under your control and on a leash.

    Where there’s water, there’s risk. Accidents can happen even when you do everything right. When you’re out enjoying Foothill’s rivers and lakes, please remember to:

    • Wear a lifejacket.
    • Scout, assess and decide.
    • Keep kids safe around water.
    • Learn to swim.
    • Behave on the water.
    • Bring the right supplies.
    • Call 9-1-1 if there is an emergency on the water.

Town of High River Water Act - Notice of Application

July 24, 2019

The Town of High River posted a Notice of Application in the Western Wheel, Wednesday, July 17, 2019 regarding the proposed South West Dike Project. A link to the Notice is below. The purpose of the Notice is to provide anyone who is directly affected by the application the opportunity to submit a statement of concern to Alberta Environment and Parks. Please note that statements of concern are to be submitted to the Regulatory Approvals Centre for Environment and Parks within 7 days (Wednesday July 24).

Instructions for submitting a statement of concern are contained in the attached Notice. Please DO NOT send your statement of concern to Foothills County.

New Responsible Dog Ownership Bylaw

New Responsible Dog Ownership Bylaw # 15/2019 approved by Foothills County on March 13, 2019 outlines in detail the responsibilities of dog owners and provides better tools for Community Peace Officers with Foothills Patrol.

The updated bylaw offers Foothills Patrol Peace Officers improved functional tools to deal with concerns from residents. The bylaw now identifies and describes varying levels of aggressive dog behavior, dog bites and resulting impact on victims with fines that reflect the different levels.
