Flood Recovery

FLOOD DIVERSION: In November 2013, the Premier announced that consultation and environmental regulatory reviews are set to begin on a diversion channel around High River and a dry dam upstream of Calgary. In addition, the province is providing a grant to the City of Calgary to study the feasibility of an underground diversion from the Glenmore Reservoir to the Bow River.

TAX RELIEF Program available for property owners. Information here.
The MD of Foothills, with support from the Government of Alberta, has announced that a Property Tax Relief Program has been established to support rural property owners affected by the June flood.

 

DISASTER RECOVERY PROGRAM (DRP)
The Government of Alberta is providing disaster financial assistance for Albertans with property damage caused by unprecedented flooding.

When visiting the Government of Alberta's website at www.alberta.ca you will notice that the MD of Foothills is not specifically listed on the communities that are eligible for the Disaster Recovery Program.

Please be assured that the MD of Foothills is included in the Disaster Recovery Program, which includes all communities that expereinced flooding in June 2013.

WATER WELL TESTING KITS
Water well test kits are available for pick up for MD of Foothills residents, at the Heritage Pointe Firehall, Black Diamond Hospital and the Okotoks Urgent Care Centre.
